Happy New Year!

It is almost a year to the day that I set up my Facebook page as part of my New Years Resolutions for The Maternity Nanny in 2015. It has proved a great success, with over 170 likes and 13 reviews, with some of my posts reaching over 1,000 people – which is absolutely amazing! Please feel free to share my page with any friends you may have with babies and children. https://www.facebook.com/Thematernitynanny/

2015 was another incredibly busy and rewarding year for me. I have just had a look through the diary and seen that I was lucky enough to work with 38 families, supporting them with sleep solutions consultations, night nannying, sleep training, breast feeding support and meal time solutions! More of my consultations this year have been via Skype or Facetime – due to clients being as far afield as Aberdeen – and they have been very successful.

I really do feel incredibly lucky to be able to meet so many fantastic families and their little ones. If the first few weeks of this year are anything to go by, 2016 will be even busier – I have 8 sleep solution consultations booked for January already, and more enquiries coming in nearly every day. Many of my new clients find me through recommendations of previous clients such as yourself – I am incredibly grateful for this – please continue to spread the word – why not forward this email to a friend who might be struggling with their little ones sleep?

So what else happened in 2015? Another house move – with a husband in the army, this routinely happens nearly every two years. We are now based at The Defence Academy, near Swindon.

I decided to follow a long held dream of becoming a midwife. I have always loved supporting families with their new babies, and was keen to extend this to supporting families throughout pregnancy and birth. In September I became a (very) mature student at Swindon New College on an Access to Health Professionals course, and began my UCAS application. I am thrilled to let you know that all three universities I applied to – UWE, UWL and Oxford Brookes have offered me a place on their degree course, starting in September of this year. Now I just have to pass my coursework and decide which one to go to!!!

I will be continuing to work with new families through The Maternity Nanny throughout my studies, and am looking forward to 2016 and all that it may bring.

I wish you and your family a very happy, healthy and peaceful 2016.

With very best wishes
Sarah x
