HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

A very belated Happy New Year!

I cannot believe how quickly the first few weeks of this year have gone. I have been meaning to update my Blog but just not managed until now. The start of the year has been busy for many reasons.

The start of a new term brings with it the usual “back to school” commotion – I am informed 30 minutes before we need to leave for school that someone has grown out of their hockey stick and needs a new one immediately, endless sewing on of name tapes and the hunt for the missing slipper. With four children all away at boarding school, my life is either feast or famine. I love having them all home although the holidays are incredibly noisy, I then dream of the day they go back to school for a little bit of peace to return to the house, but once they’ve gone I simply dread walking into a quiet house!!

I was also starting a new term. Some of you may know I started studying for my midwifery degree in September. I am absolutely loving it! I am currently on my second community midwifery placement, and in February I start a five week placement on a birth unit. Every day on placement is filled with amazing experiences and a multitude of learning opportunities. I am not sure I will ever be able to retain all the information that is required – I am in awe of my Midwife Mentors who I shadow on a daily basis. Their knowledge, compassion and skill is utterly inspiring.

The Maternity Nanny has been going from strength to strength and I am as busy as ever. I supported 60 families during 2016 with Sleep Solutions Consultations. It is so lovely when I receive testimonials from families who I have helped, saying what a “massive difference” I have made to their family’s life, enabling everyone to get a better nights sleep. 2017 has got off to a great start and I have had 3 Sleep Solutions consultations already this month, with another three booked for the next couple of weeks.

Thank you to all of you who have referred friends and relatives to me – many of my clients are recommendations from previous clients and I am very grateful to all of you who “spread the word”. If you do know anyone who is struggling with their little one’s sleep, please do give them my details – I would be delighted to have a chat with them to hear about the issues they are having and to have the opportunity to explain how I am able to offer them strategies and solutions to create positive sleep associations leading to improved sleep for the whole family.

I wish you a very happy, healthy and prosperous 2017.

With very best wishes, Sarah x
